Painesville, OH | 25 MW Solar + 20 MW Battery Storage
The Painesville Solar Project transforms 1,000 acres of brownfield land, including a retired coal plant, into a hub for clean energy generation and local revitalization. Combining 25 MW of solar with 20 MW of battery storage, the project delivers dependable, homegrown power to residents at some of the lowest utility rates in Ohio.
The project also converts underused industrial land into a community conservation park protecting the Grand River watershed, one of the most biologically diverse river systems in the nation, while retaining and retraining local utility workers for the clean energy economy.
Power Up Local serves as project coordinator, scoping feasibility, aligning stakeholders, facilitating regulatory compliance, and managing delivery from concept through implementation.
